South Australias Brad Gartner has followed up his Junior Sedan Promotions Association Series win in December at Laang Speedway, with a solid performance on Saturday night at Heytesbury Stockfeeds, Simpson Speedway taking out first place in the final ahead of Ricky Cornwall and Todd Atkins in a somewhat hectic race.

Heat wins were shared between Gartner, Cornwall, Atkins and Kasey Garlick, putting Gartner off the front row alongside Atkins who had opted to start rear of field in all of his heats to sort out some car issues.

At the drop of the flag it was Gartner who jumped to the lead with Ricky Cornwall getting a stellar start dropping into second and Atkins in third.

Garlick was the challenger, once making it into third position but a race stoppage not working to her favour, sending her back to fourth again.

It was half way through the race that Garlick once again made a challenge, when Darcy Giblin came onto the scene in a hurry causing Todd Atkins to be deposited against the wall in turn two. Garlick was deemed the cause of the stoppage and was relegated to rear of field.
Once again at the restart Gartner jumped away with Cornwall chasing, and Atkins in third with Giblin again attempting to take third place only to be relegated back to fourth at the next stoppage when Nick Catley spun in turn two.

At the drop of the flag it was Brad Gartner all the way with Ricky Cornwall in second and Todd Atkins in third, Darcy Giblin in fourth, while Kasey Garlick had fought her way back to fifth place with a very admirable drive.

The night was very well supported with twenty nine Juniors competing for honours in the JSPA Series events. The New Star division was taken out by Rhys Meakins of Alexandra with four straight wins for the night from Bella Rizzoli of Ballarat and Kelsey Lincoln of Alexandra in third.

The Juniors will head to Sungold Stadium, Warrnambool next Saturday night to compete in the Neville Pike Cup. This is one of the premium races on the Junior Sedan calendar with many holding it in high regard having been helped and mentored by the late Neville Pike.
