Branden Fraser won an epic thirty lap main event to become the third different winner of the South Coast Classic on Saturday night.
In one of the best finishes you will see, Fraser held off a last ditch final lap challenge from Nathan Penn to win by 0.061 seconds that had the crowd on their feet.
After initially holding off Clint Noakes in an earlier battle, Penn was able to grab second place and the trio had a outstanding three-way war in the 30-lap decider.
It proved to be one of the best finishes witnessed in Attwell Parks long history as Fraser and Penn races side by side to the line, but Fraser prevailed by 0.061 of a second.
It was a night of firsts for the young gun as he secured his first pole position after winning the top six shootout and then claimed an emotional first feature race win, becoming $5000 richer in the process.
A gallant Penn did all he could in the final lap and paid full credit to Fraser for his drive while Albanys Matt Kata rounded out the podium.
Clint Noakes run came to an end on lap 29, joining a long list of retirees, and promoted Kata to third as a result.
An outstanding third edition of the rich event.
