Branden Fraser has tonight returned to the top step of the WA Modified Sedan Series podium by claiming Round 7 of the 2022/2023 Batchelor Industries WA Modified Sedan Series at Moora Speedway, supported by Kachana Beef.

Sam McAuley would start his night in mighty fine style, taking the first win of the night on a very heavy racetrack following overnight rain. Luke Fraser would follow him home, with Shane Brittain working his way to third.

The second heat of the night would see Luke Fraser quickly take the race lead from Allan Mortimer, before disaster stuck when Fraser was forced to the infield with mechanical dramas. Branden Fraser would soon find himself on the tail of Sam McAuley, as the duo raced in close proximity for numerous laps. Fraser would soon found a way past McAuley to take his first win of the night.

Heat three would see a brilliant race throughout the entirety, as multiple drivers jostled for positions, while Luke Fraser was stuck in the pits with diff dramas ending his night. Branden Fraser soon cleared out to a handy race lead, while Jason Batchelor pushed too hard in turn three, making contact with the concrete wall and ending his race.

When the race restarted, Branden Fraser would take his second win of the night, defeating Sam McAuley and Jamie Higgs.

The shootout would only see four cars take part, with clutch issues for Allan Mortimer and running repairs taking place for Jason Batchelor. Branden Fraser would prove too strong for Sam McAuley, to claim pole position for the final.

When it came to the twenty-lap final, Branden Fraser charged to the lead with Sam McAuley trying everything to force a way past on the inside of Fraser. Shane Brittain and Jamie Higgs would jostle for third and fourth, as they past one another on multiple occasions.

After a handful of laps, Branden Fraser soon stretched his lead, as Sam McAuley fell into a battle of four with Shane Brittain, Jamie Higgs and Allan Mortimer looking for a way through. Brittain and Higgs swapped positions back and forth yet again, as Jamie Higgs found his way through to third.

Higgs’ charge towards the front would continue, as Sam McAuley ran wide, allowing Jamie Higgs through to second. Jason Batchelor soon worked his way into the battle for the minor placings, as Branden Fraser continued to stretch his lead out in front.

From this point, Branden Fraser would not be headed, as he went on to claim the seventh round of the 2022/2023 Batchelor Industries WA Modified Sedan Series, defeating Jamie Higgs, Sam McAuley, Shane Brittain and Allan Mortimer. Jason Batchelor unfortunately would fail to finish.

Attention will now turn to the final round of the 2022/2023 Batchelor Industries WA Modified Sedan Series which will be held at Pithara Speedway for the very first time.

The WA Modified Drivers Association would like to thank Lee, Tara and the Watt family from Kachana Beef for supporting the seventh round of the series, as well as the Moora Speedway for continuing their support of Modified Sedan racing in WA.
