Super Sedan fans in Tasmania have had to wait five weeks to see action on track and they were not disappointed on Saturday night, at the Solo Hobart Speedway, with Steve Latham winning a thrilling 30 Lap Feature Race.
Adam Beechey and Steve Latham would start on the front row, with David Nichols and Wayne Dillon starting on row two.
Beechey took the lead from Latham, while Nichols and Dillon swapped the third position through the opening laps.
Beechey and Latham started to open a lead on the remaining drivers, with Dillon moving back to third place at the half way mark.
On lap twenty three Latham made a decisive move, taking the lead back from Beechey, with Nichols and Gil Aylett both passing Dillon on lap twenty five, demoting Dillon to fifth place.
Beechey hounded Latham lap after lap in the concluding stages with Latham winning by a mere 0.298 at the chequered flag. The pair finished almost half a lap ahead of Nichols and Aylett who were separated by only 0.307, in a great finish for third. Wayne Dillon and Robert Bird rounded out the top six, with twelve of the thirteen starters finishing the 30 laps.
Fans will not have to wait long to see the Super Sedans again, with an even bigger field entered for this weekends event at Carrick, with fifteen drivers nominated, including National Champion, Callum Harper.
