Speedway Sedans Northern Territory have today finalised the field for the 2021 SSA Street Stock Northern Territory Title to be held at the Katherine Speedway on Saturday 10th July 2021.
Katherine Speedway which is located some three hundred kilometres to the south of Darwin has not held the event since 2001 when Chace Karpenko parked his Ford Falcon in victory lane.
Thirty four competitors are entered with entries coming from Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia to take on the locals in their own backyard with defending champion Steve Gartner not in the field to defend the title he has held since May 2019.
2018 Northern Territory Champion Jason Duell is the field along with Justin Brumfield who won at Tennant Creek in 2016 and Darren Brumfield who was the NT Champion back in 2008.
Victorian’s Shane & Felicity Roycroft will be very competitive along with John Roycroft who now calls Queensland home, with their trio of Ford Falcons set to turn heads in the outback.
Dale Morrison rounds out the Victorian contingent as Queensland SSA Street Stock racing continues to make its mark on a national level with five Queenslanders in the field.
Broome’s Mark Murray & Kununurra’s Russell Gunn will represent Western Australia with Murray starting the 2021 season strongly at his home club.
Jake Koivumaki & Jack Yates have won the opening two feature races of the season at the Katherine Speedway with the Territorian’s hoping to keep the title in the top end.
More information will be released closer to event as anticipation builds towards the biggest Northern Territory Title for a Speedway Sedans Australia classes ever seen.
