Speedway Sedans Australia is pleased to officially announce the field for the 2026 SSA Junior Sedan National Title, to be held at the Tyres & More Esperance Speedway on January 8-10 2026, with official nominations closing at an outstanding 88 competitors.
The 2026 event will mark the largest Junior Sedan National Title field since the 2009 championship event at Mildura and stands as the second-biggest in the category’s recent history. The total comfortably surpasses the 74 nominations received when the title was last contested at Esperance in 2014, underlining the continued growth and strength of Junior Sedan racing nationwide.
The field features a strong national spread, with 28 interstate competitors from all States set to travel west to take on 60 Western Australian entrants, ensuring a truly national contest on the Esperance clayway.
Reigning national champion Harrison Beres headlines the nominations and will make history as the first Western Australian driver to defend a National Title on home soil within SSA classes. Beres will also be chasing a rare back-to-back national crown, a feat not achieved since Ardie Jonic.
The depth of experience across the field is highlighted by Northern Territory competitor River Spitzbarth, the sole remaining driver from the 2022 Junior Sedan National Title at Alexandra to contest the Esperance event. Four drivers return who competed at Mount Gambier in 2023, while a further twelve entrants carry experience from the 2024 championships at Grafton.
State champions from across the country are also well represented, including Western Australian Champion Oscar Amato, Northern Territory Champion Benji Gordon, and Queensland champ Cruz Carlin, all adding further quality to an already stacked field.
