Proving his State Title run in January was no fluke, local Jack Favero defended his home track soil with a convincing win in the SSA Street Stocks during the Tyrepower Manjimup Speedway’s Opening Day event.

SSA Street Stocks where the talk of the event with a large field turning up for the first event of 2020/2021.David Fall joined Favero off the front row but all eyes where on Shane Whild who started at the tail of the field after a gearbox change which blew on him while leading the opening heat race.

Whild was exciting and used well timed stoppages near the concluding stages of the event to high side himself into second place, up 12 positions from his starting position until a flat right rear tyre stopped any challenge for the win.

Favero would lead the distance to down Fall and Margret Rivers Daniel Stanley.

For the SSA Junior Sedans, Vince Lindsay was impressive all day long taking the feature over Fletcher Milentis and a fast-improving Jake Leaman while Joe Wilson made an epic last corner pass for the win over Mark Fardella and Shaune Toye.

Manjimup’s next event see the second round of the Ivix Industries South West Sedan Championship and the Super Sedan Summer Series being the main draw card on November 28th.
