The 2021 Shinju Matsuri Festival Race Meeting came to thrilling conclusion on Saturday Night at the Broome Speedway in the far north of Western Australia.

The SSA Street Stock main event was the highlight of the race meeting with some of the state’s best in the field along with a sprinkling of the best talent from the Northern Territory.

Clinton Waldron unfortunately inverted his Holden Commodore on lap twelve which brought about the first stoppage of the race.Misfortune struck Carnarvon’s Damon Lyall & Northern Territory champion Justin Brumfield as the pair battled for the lead with the duo out of the race on lap sixteen.

Derby’s Jake Hoath survived all the dramas going on around him to claim victory from Kununurra’s Russell Gunn & Broome local Jose Glasson.

Favourites in the SSA Production Sedan class Jhye Kent & Karratha’s Jack McAuley would fail to go in the distance in the main event as Stephen Pearce took out a race of attrition.

Newman’s Donny Davis was the class of the field in the SSA Top Star Junior Sedans as former Broome local Max Lang scored the victory in the SSA New Star Junior Sedans.

Donny Davis collected the SSA Top Star Main Event

Competitors in the Kimberley region will now turn their attention to the Donny Archer Memorial to be held this Friday & Saturday Nights at the Derby Speedway located some two hundred kilometres to the North East of Broome.
