Mark Jennings is one of six National Champions in the field to contest next weekends, Speedway Sedans Australia, Coopers, National Street Stock Title at Adelaide Motorsports Park.

Jennings was just twenty four when he won the National Title at Timmis Speedway, Mildura, in 1995, and celebrates thirty years in the sport having started racing in 1988.

From Mt Gambier, Jennings, now 46, took six years off racing from 2003-2009, before returning, and will be one of the most experienced drivers competing in the National Title.

I have competed in 14 National Titles, and I competed in the very first Aussie Title at Warrnambool in 1990, Jennings explains.

I got fourth last year at Kingaroy, the last lap for me was pretty intense, I was in a three way fight for second, I rode a bump wrong and got fourth-all good, my best finish was obviously in Mildura where I won, Jennings adds.

Jennings has won the South Australian Title three times, taking the title three times in four years between 1992 and 1995 and has been the runner-up twice in 2001 and 2010.

Big car counts are always exciting, but my goal is to qualify the final, wit out the C or B Main, Jennings explains. Once you are in the A Main just be somewhere in top six or seven with ten to go then its hammer-down time trying to win.

Jennings has plenty of experience racing at Adelaide Motorsports Park, and is one of the very few who can say he has raced at the venue when it was known as Speedway Park and Speedway City before the most recent change to Adelaide Motorsports Park. I raced a lot in the mid 1990s and won many Feature races and I won last years MJS round, winning the heats and Feature. I have raced there three times since Boxing Day and the car has been good.

Without being highly successful in Feature Race wins this season, Jennings has amassed fifteen heat race wins this season from nine nights of racing. Driving a 2010, FG Ford Falcon, Jennings believes Lenny Bates, Brad McClure and Robbie Faux will be at the pointy end of the field come the Feature Race.
