After the outstanding success of last seasons challenge, the Corbets Group Gympie Speedway along with returning sponsor Ellerfield Financial Planning are pleased to announce the return of the National 4’s King of the Mountain Challenge for the 2017/2018 Season.
Last year saw some fantastic racing over the four rounds and with the $10,000 plus prize pool we can expect to see the same again this season.
The Challenge will once again be run over four race meetings commencing on the 2 December 2017, with the other rounds on the 3 February 2018, 3 March 2018 and 12 May 2018.
Each driver will receive $100 min guarantee to take the green on each night, with a normal nights prize money on offer at each round.

1st – $1000 + Trophy
2nd – $600. + Trophy
3rd – $500 + Trophy
4th – $450 + Trophy
5th – $400.+ Trophy
6th – $350 + Trophy
7th – $300.+ Trophy
8th – $250 + Trophy
9th – $200 + Trophy
10th – $100 + Trophy
This season will see a slight change of format for the Feature with the top 6 qualifiers having their starting positions for the feature race drawn out of a hat. The rest of the grid will remain as per their qualifying points from the heats.
Also new this season will be the introduction of 4 x Lucky Dog Draw Winners of $200 drawn at the end of round four. This will be for those drivers outside the top ten, with drivers only having to have done one round to be eligible.
