Wayne Dillon has taken out an epic Geoff Stagg Memorial as well as round seven of the Tazz Auto Shots Media Tasmanian Super Sedan Series at Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway.

Brad McMaster was on fire in the opening heat of the night, charging from fourth on the grid to win the first heat of the night. Dillon also came from deep in the pack finish second, from Grant Hopkins in third.

Nathan Howells took out a hard fought win in heat two, from Marcus Alexander in second, and David Nichols in third who recovered after being sent rear in the early stages.

Steve Latham bounced back after a DNF in his opening heat race to win heat three. Nichols crossed in the line in second from Tim Johnson in third.

Robbie Bird followed Latham’s suit to win the final heat of the night after a DNF in his first heat. McMaster continued his good night, crossing the line second, ahead of Dillon in third.

McMaster secured pole position for the twenty five lap main event, with Dillon to start on his outside. Nichols would set sail from third on the grid, with Howells on his outside.

Dillon used the top side to his advantage and blasted out of turn two into the lead.

Dillon led the opening lap from McMaster, Nichols, Alexander and Howells in the top five.

Nichols looked fast in third position, and made a dive for second position only to be baulked by a lap car.

Dillon put a couple of car lengths between himself, McMaster and Nichols as the chasing pair battled it out for the runner up spot.

Josh Piscioneri rallied to seventh after starting from tenth, and quickly found his way into the top five after eleven laps.

McMaster and Nichols continued to duke it out, but also reeled Dillon in to make it a three way battle for the lead.

The top three ran under a blanket as they raced towards lap traffic in the closing stages.

Nichols drew level with McMaster again, but McMaster withstood the challenge to clear back into second position.

Dillon was under immense pressure from the chasing pair, but handled everything McMaster and Nichols threw at him to go on to record the biggest win of his career to date.

McMaster crossed the line second, for his second podium finish of the season. Nichols rounded out the podium in third for his first podium finish of the season.

Alexander continued his good form with a fourth placed finish, from Piscioneri in fifth. Hopkins came sixth, from Latham in seventh, and Howells in eighth.

Johnson was next across the line in ninth, ahead of Corey Jetson who rounded out the top ten.

The TSSS will now take a back seat as the 2025 Tassie Tiger Super Sedan Trail kicks off on the 10th and 11th of January back at Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway.
