DICKENSON GRABS FIRST WIN!

For the second time in as many weeks it would be a first-time winner claiming victory in the Tazz Auto Shots Media Super Sedans Tasmania Series, this time with Ellis Dickenson claiming round three at AutoKlene Hobart Raceway.

Dickenson would start alongside pole sitter Callum Harper for the thirty lap feature with Harper quickly into the lead ahead of Dickenson with Grant Hopkins moving into third.

Harper would hold the lead for the opening laps, surviving a restart with four complete and Dickenson doing all he could to hold off Hopkins before Hopkins was able to get through.

Adam Beechey would then apply the pressure to Dickenson, with Marcus Alexander also getting involved before Beechey found himself facing the wrong way with six laps now complete.

Dickenson used the restart to his advantage, running the highline to grab second from Hopkins, who was still holding off Beechey and Alexander.

Beechey got by Dickenson but collected the wall coming out of turn two, seeing the two remain side by side until Beechey regained his momentum and not only shot away from Dickenson, but also pulled alongside Harper to momentarily take the lead.

Lapped traffic saw the lead duo split either side, but a second lapped car saw Beechey baulked and Harper able to pull away, only for the yellow lights to come on again with seventeen laps remaining and thirteen cars still on track.

This time Dickenson used the highline to grab second on the restart only to bounce through turn four and drop back to fourth as both Beechey and Alexander got by.

Meanwhile up front Harper had built up a handy lead, while Dickenson chased down and passed Alexander to retake third position and with ten laps to go the field had spread out.

Again lapped traffic would play its part, and with eight to go Beechey had closed right up onto the tail of Harper. All of a sudden the duo had come together, the right front of Beechey stuck to the left rear of the Harper car, the duo coming to a stop in turn one and both out of the race.

Dickenson would inherit the lead on the restart and with nine cars now remaining Dickenson was immediately away while Chris Gallagher was now working to make his presence felt, going around the outside of Alexander for second, only to have Josh Pisconeri arrive on the scene and grab third.

The laps wound down and although Alexander was chasing hard, a bicycle through the turns gave Dickenson the unassailable gap he needed, going on to take the win. Pisconeri also got by Alexander for second but on the final lap Alexander got back by to reclaim the position with Pisconeri settling for third in what was an exciting feature race.
