Derby Speedway located some twenty two hundred kilometres north of the Western Australian state capital Perth has attracted some great fields for its annual Donny Archer Memorial to be held this Friday & Saturday Night’s.
Following on from a spectacular two nights of competition held last weekend down in Broome for the Shinju Matsuri Festival Race Meeting, five of Speedway Sedans Australia national classes have made their way up the highway to the other speedway located in the West Kimberley region.
Six of the seven Shinju main events winners will be in Derby including Max Lang (SSA New Star Junior Sedans), Jake Hoath (SSA Street Stocks), Stephen Pearce (SSA Production Sedans), Dale Edwards (SSA Modified Sedans), Tom Oliver (SSA Super Sedans) & Laura McCarthy (SSA Street Stocks, Ladies).
The SSA Street Stock field is the biggest of all the classes that are apart of the Donny Archer Memorial with Darwin’s Megan Henderson & Kane Lloyd in his popular XF Ford Falcon amongst the entries along with Karratha quartet Stevie O’Dowd, Colm O’Riordan, James Hunt & Steve Griffiths.
Very warm weather conditions will be a challenge for both man & machine across the course of the race meeting.
