The opening day of competition in the 2020 East Pilbara Tyre Service Brian Rose Memorial for SSA Street Stocks has come to a premature end after heavy rain put a halt to proceedings after seven qualifying heats were contested.
Damon Lyall leads the point score courtesy of two heat race victories with rain beginning to fall during heat seven which was the first heat of the third round.
Two Time National Champion Mick Hamon had a productive day and has eighty four points with Western Australian Champion Jamie Oldfield also winning two heat races.
Oldfield unfortunately came to grief during heat seven with his Holden Commodore requiring some overnight repairs.
Heat Races Eight and Nine that were scheduled to be ran today will be contested prior to the beginning of day two’s proceedings.
Racing gets from 11am tomorrow with SSA Junior Sedans and SSA Production Sedans also on the program.
DRIVERS WITH A # HAVE COMPLETED THREE ROUNDS OF HEAT RACING.
