2011 National Modified Sedan Champion Max Clarke has claimed the first main event win for his new Superior Painting Chev Camaro after taking out the 5k to win Dirt Dash at the McCosker Gladstone Speedway last night.

Clarke lead all thirty laps of the main event to defeat Toowoomba’s Nathan Macdonald & Townsville’s Hayden Stephensen.

The Modified Sedan action throughout the night was from the top shelf for the great crowd on hand at Australia’s newest Speedway.

Each competitor contested three rounds of heat racing before the main event with Clarke and Macdonald sharing the front row.

2013 National Modified Sedan Champion Aidan Raymont held third until retiring on lap sixteen with Bailey Barnicoat also out at that point after running inside the top five.

Clarke held off the challenges from Macdonald as they worked their way through the traffic with Macdonald closing rapidly on the final lap.

It would be Clarke holding on by just 0.125 of a second over the former Queensland Champion Macdonald with Stephensen a distant third as the race went from start to finish without a stoppage.
