Continuing his collection of great results in the 2025/26 season, New South Welshman Lawson Clarke last night grabbed the win in the SSA Junior Sedan SA Title at the Borderline Speedway.
Having already claimed the WA Title and coming second in the Australian Title, Clarke outclassed a stacked field to take home the win as the only NSW representative in the entry list.
Former Australian Champion Harrison Beres would start from pole position alongside Clarke for the twenty-five lap final, the duo side by side as the race got underway. Coming out of turn two contact was made, with Clarke spinning in front of the field and plenty of cars making contact.
A number of cars would not restart the race, with Clarke and Beres given another chance at the front, only for cars further back to end up spinning in the same spot as the first attempt.
Attempt three was much better, with Clarke quickly getting ahead of Beres with Jake Bradley moving into third.
Clarke quickly built up a gap on the rest of the field while Beres was holding off Bradley and Maddy Beach.
Lap nine saw Bradley underneath Beres, the duo making contact and Beres just holding on. The very next lap Bradley dove under Beres for the position but Beres motored right on back by to reclaim the position. Lap twelve though saw Bradley make the decisive move, taking over second.
With twelve laps remaining the yellows came out for a stranded Violet Thorne in turn four, bunching the field up once again for a restart. Unfortunately it didn’t last long as Blake Beach and another competitor found themselves in the turn two wall.
Clarke would skip away on the restart, with Bradley still under pressure from Beres while Beach was now under pressure from Tyler Smith.
Aussie Champion Lachie Burke got in on the action late trying to get past Smith and Beach in the battle for fourth, but up front it was all Clarke, fighting his way through lapped traffic in the dying stages to claim the win.
Jake Bradley would hang on for second ahead of Beres, while Tyler Smith would finish in fourth, making it four states represented within the top four finishers.
