Official Release- Monday 12th June 2023.
Speedway Sedans Western Australia have today released the final entry list for the 2023 Total Safety & Tools SSA Street Stock WA State Title to be held at the Port Hedland Speedway located some sixteen hundred kilometres North of Perth.
Carnarvon’s Damon Lyall defends the title that he won in Kalgoorlie back in March of 2022 against sixty six other entries, making it the biggest field ever assembled for a Western Australian State Title in the Northern Region of the State.
In what will be the thirty seventh running of the WA State Title for SSA Street Stocks, the event returns to the site of the only non completed State Title in the history of Speedway Sedans Western Australia when the event was abandoned in 2013 due to persistent rain.
Four Time Western Australian Champion Jamie Oldfield heads the list of former winners making the long trip North and is joined by other former champions Wayne Thomson (2002 & 2004), Hayden Norman (2018) and Jack Barnewall (2019).
Perth’s Ben Norman brings great form into the event after recording a fine runner up result in the National Street Stock Title at Bunbury back in March with other leading contenders Jace Kempton, Ethan Genev, Lenny Bates and Paul Briggs all entered.
Most of the field is made up of competitors from the North of Western Australia, with Derby trio Jake Hoath, Brinley McGaffin and Robert Dunbar all strong chances along with Newman’s Craig Clayton and Karratha’s Stevie O’Dowd and Jack McAuley.
Lucas Fry and Jack Yates are travelling all the way from Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory with their Holden Commodores to race at the Pilbara venue which is over six hundred metres in circumference.
Official Practice will be conducted on Friday 23rd June before the two nights of competition on Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th June 2023.
A live stream of the event will be available at Clay Per View.
