One of Australia’s biggest annual SSA Street Stock events, the Brian Rose Memorial is set to be battled out across two big days of competition this weekend at the Ellenbrook Speedway in Western Australia.
Over forty of Western Australia’s best have entered for the East Pilbara Tyre Service backed race meeting with the field headed by ten time winner and current Western Australian Champion Jamie Oldfield.
Oldfield was unbeaten at the last show at Ellenbrook aboard the Novel Smash Repairs Holden Commodore but will face an enormous challenge to claim an eleventh victory in his home club’s premier event.
Hayden Norman won his maiden Brian Rose Memorial in dramatic circumstances twelve months ago after having fell short on many occasions previously.
Norman took the lead late in the race from Collie’s Paul Briggs who will be hoping luck is on his side in 2020.
Locally based drivers Evan Wakefield, Josh Martinelli and Warren Oldfield have plenty of confidence heading into the weekend with Oldfield also a former winner of the Brian Rose Memorial.
Carnarvon’s Jace Kempton and Damon Lyall have showed great form in the north of the state since racing resumed in July with fellow visiting drivers Paul Joss, Peter Herbert and two time National Champion Mick Hamon all likely contenders.
A very strong field of SSA Production Sedans are entered with many of the competitors looking for more track time ahead of their rescheduled State Title which is just over a week away.
Racing gets underway from 11am both days with post race highlights courtesy of Ash Media to be uploaded shortly after the completion of each day’s proceedings.
