Sean Black has become the second feature race winner of the season in Queensland, by taking out round four of the McCosker Super Sedan series brought to you by Integrity Warranties at Archerfield Speedway in Brisbane.

Drivers would face two heats each in a bid to secure enough points to lock into the gold/silver/bronze shootout, before the forty lap main event.

Darren Kane kicked off his night in fine form when he took out heat one. Kane would lead home fellow Dominator Chassis stable mate Bob McCosker, and former IBRP driver Mitchell Gee.

Black got his night off to the perfect start when he took out a big win in heat two. The returning Tania Smith would cross the line second, just ahead of Victorian Mick Nicola in third.

Brad Pascoe and Steve Jordan had another tight tussle at the front of a heat race, with Pascoe coming out just on top. Jordan would finish second, ahead of Bega’s Tyson Moon.

Gee continued his good form on the night with a win in heat four. Hayden Brims crossed the line second, ahead of Black in third.

Jordan had another battle with a Pascoe at the front of a heat race, this time with National Champion Matty Pascoe. Jordan was able to get one back, narrowly defeating Pascoe by two tenths of a second. Zac Brims would round out the podium in third.

Nicola would win the final heat of the night, besting Tasmania’s Adam Beechey by half a second. Moon would take out another third place finish to round out the podium.

Black would top the time sheets in the shootout to earn pole position for the feature race, with Gee set to start on his outside.

Black would get the initial jump and take the lead through turns one and two. Gee would get a big run around the top of the track in turns three and four to lead at the stripe.

Gee was setting a good pace out front, with Black in hot pursuit in second, and Jordan in third.

Brad Pascoe would move on to the podium on lap five when he passed Jordan for third, and begin the chase for the lead two. Pascoe was beginning to challenge Black for second when the caution flag was out for the first time on lap thirteen for a spinning Harry Doyle.

At the resumption Gee continued to lead from Black and Pascoe. Nicola would take fourth position from Jordan on the restart.

The caution lights were out again on lap nineteen for Hayden Brims who would exit the race.

Black continued to pressure Gee and his hard work paid off on lap thirty when he made the pass on the inside. Pascoe would take second three laps later also passing Gee on the inside.

Pascoe would start to chase down Black and got to within half a second, but would ultimately run out of time, with Black greeting the chequers for his first win of the season.

Gee would hold on to third, for his second podium finish of the season. Nicola continued his good form cross the line fourth, and Tyson Moon would round out an all Sweet Chassis top five.
