After an epic day of racing at Ellenbrook Speedway, Australian Champion Harrison Beres has walked away the winner of the Tom Green Memorial Gold Cup for SSA Junior Sedans (Top Stars), while Jake Huntjens has been the big winner in the New Stars.

A strong twenty car field fronted in the Top Stars, with all but Jesse Hamon (engine issues) making the call for the twenty-lap feature.
Beres started on pole and would grab the point immediately, leading lap one from Baxter Trouchet and defending Tom Green champion Jake Leaman.
Beres pulled away as the battle for second between Trouchet and Leaman heated up, the duo eventually making contact down the back straight and leaving Trouchet with a flat tyre.
Trouchet was stuck at the top of the track and was unable to get off safely which forced the yellows on, while at the same time a number of cars came together, Travis Leaman getting the worst of it as he was left facing the wrong way, but able to retake his position in the field for the restart.
Beres came under pressure from Leaman on the restart but held strong and began to pull away, only for the yellows to come on again as a couple of cars came together down the back of the field.
The next attempt would see Beres clear while Leaman came under pressure from Jacob Hill and Jamie Comley, Hill in particular showing the nose to Leaman on a number of occasions over the next few laps.
With five to go Beres was clear by over two seconds while Leaman was fighting desperately to hold onto second. Comley was able to stick the nose under Hill and take third with four to go while a lap later Noah Bain also got passed Hill for fourth.
As the white flag flew for Beres, Comley also got underneath Leaman, the duo side by side in the final stages before both Comley and Bain got by Leaman to round out the podium behind a solid Beres who claimed his Tom Green Memorial win.
In the New Stars seventeen of our sports newest drivers would hit the track, with every driver relishing the chance to get a heap of laps under their belts.
Jake Huntjens would be absolutely dominant, winning all three of his heat races, starting on the front row of the twenty-lap feature and then leading every lap en route to winning the Tom Green Memorial.

Jake Johnson and Blake Noakes provided challenges throughout the day but ultimately had to settle for podium finishes.
Also on the program Matthew Iwanow won the SSA Street Stocks feature ahead of Gavin Minty and a hard charging Brooke Oldfield, while Jake Blight won an epic SSA Production Sedan feature race ahead of Jamie Higgs and Mitchell Killeen in what was an exciting prelude to the Production Classic which is the next meeting at the Ellenbrook venue on Sunday the 14th of September.
