Last weekend the Super Sedans of WA held the penultimate round of their series at Tyrepower Manjimup Speedway and it was veteran racer Kemble Aylett who raced away to take the win.
Seven cars would greet the starter in the main event, with Aylett making the most of his front row starting position to immediately dive into the lead.
Hamish Macalpine would slot into second while Lukas Lampert led a pack of cars in third.
Bryce Fisher was working hard to get underneath Lampert, and after Lampert came out of turn two slightly too wide, Fisher was able to dive by.
Keith Higgs would follow him through for fourth shortly after, having started towards the back of the pack.
Fisher quickly closed the gap to second placed Macalpine as Aylett began to race away.
Higgs would also join the battle for second, but Macalpine held strong for much of the race, Fisher and Higgs unable to get by.
Higgs would try lap after lap on the bottom to get by Fisher, but it wasn’t until he moved up high that he was able to build any momentum, able to get by with only a handful of laps remaining.
A couple of laps later he would pull the same move on Macalpine, grabbing second as the white flag flew.
Up front though it was all Aylett, racing away to a big win over Higgs while Macalpine would hold on for third ahead of Fisher, Lampert, Darren Coles and Darren Larson.
The final round of the Summer Series will be decided this coming weekend at the Perth Motorplex.
