Veteran Street Stock racer Morris Ahearn raced his way to victory this weekend in the season opener at Speedway Wangaratta.
Ahearn nearly went through the night undefeated, two wins and a second in the heats, putting him on the front row for the final alongside Shane Roycroft.
Roycroft was able to grab the lead initially, Ahearn biding his time until finally making his move to lead lap nine, with Rhys Meakins following him through and putting Roycroft back into third.
From here the order would remain unchanged.
Also on the program Jack Bear raced his way to victory in the SSA Production Sedans feature ahead of Cooper Croker and Justin Hawkins ahead of the venue hosting the National Production Sedan Title later this season, while in the SSA Junior Sedans Oscar Condor and Zack Erickson won the New Star and Top Star main events respectively.
