With over 140 applications received to date, Team Australia selectors have been hard at work reviewing and interviewing potential candidates against our strict criteria, as we set out to build a team who embody the very essence of what Australian Speedway is all about.
We’ve had drivers from every state and territory, representing everything from Street Stocks to Modified Sedans, Dirt Modifieds and even Sprintcars have put their credentials forward, each looking to represent Australian Speedway on a global stage.
One such applicant is Mount Gambier’s Anthony Beare, who we’re pleased to announce as the latest selection to compete for Team Australia in 2022.
Famous for taking titles at will in his hot pink #46 Commodore, Beare is a five-time Speedway Sedans Australia Australian Street Stock champion – in what is the largest and most closely-fought class in the country. He also boasts an incredible 28 state titles, and a further victory in the Production Sedan National title.
One of the highest profile competitors in the country, Beare’s enthusiasm for the Team Australia project has been as infectious as his desire to win at all costs. There’s little doubt the hot pink #46 will be a prominent fixture at the head of New Zealand Stockcar fields.
