2020/2021 WA Titles Announced

Speedway Sedans WA have finalised the dates for the State Titles to be contested in 2020/2021 season.

With the Speedway Sedans Australia, National Street Stock Title to be held in Bunbury, the State Title will be held five days later on Friday, 29 January 2021 and Saturday, 30 January 2021 at Attwell Park in Albany. It will have been 14 years since the Great Southern venue will have hosted the event, which is sure to retain many interstate drivers after the National Title.

The Modified Sedan Title will be held in Collie in early February, with a date to be confirmed next year once Collie’s Calendar is released. Collie held the State Title in 2016, which was an excellent spectacle.

The Labour Day weekend will be the date for the Production Sedan Title, which will be held at Moora. Moora has never held the State Title for Production Sedans, but did host a highly successful National Title for the category. The dates will be Saturday 27 February 2021 and Sunday 28 February 2021.

The Junior Sedan Title will be held at Easter, and for the very first time will be held at the Nickol Bay Speedway in Karratha. The event will be held on Saturday, 3 April 2021 and Sunday 4 April 2021. It is just the second time since 1978 that the event has been held North of Carnarvon. Nickol Bay President Steve O’Dowd was over the moon when advised his venue had been selected. “We are looking forward to hosting it, we can’t wait”, he said.

Finally, in a major coup for the category, the Super Sedan Title will be held at the Bunbury Speedway, forty years after it was last held at the venue in 1981, when Ben Ludlow defeated Phil Myers and Laurie Hardie. The date for this event will be confirmed once Bunbury issue their calendar for next season. President of Super Sedans WA, Kevin Bell, is thrilled with the announcement. “This is awesome news for our division”, said Bell.

Speedway Sedans WA would like to thank the twelve member clubs who applied for State Titles.
