Mick Nicola has won his third New South Wales Super Sedan Title on Saturday night, at the Sapphire Speedway, Bega, 15 years after winning his second.
His victory is the longest running streak recorded between Super Sedan Title victories, as he defeated Andrew White and Mick Nicola Jnr.
It was a Nicola from row with Senior and Junior taking the top two positions after the six qualifying heats, while Andrew White and Tyson Moon would start on the second row, however after Mick Nicola Snr lead through the opening two laps, it would be Peter Nicola, who started on the third row who would assume control of the race, with a great outside passing move.
His run would come to an end on lap twenty, losing the lead and ultimately would retire from the race soon after, handing the lead back to Mick Nicola.
In a great finish after a couple of stoppages, Andrew White and Mick Nicola Jnr applied immense pressure to Mick Nicola Snr, with Wayne Dick not far behind in fourth place.
Nicola Snr though would hold off the challenges to defeat a gallant Andrew White by just 0.551 after thirty five laps, while Nicola Jnr was only 0.765 off of winning the event himself.
Earlier, Mick Nicola was the only driver to win two heats, while Wayne Dick, Tyson Moon, Darryl Moon and Peter Nicola were successful in the other qualifiers.
