The Speedway Sedans Australia, Mental Racewear, National Street Stock Title at the Timmis Speedway, Mildura, is just seven days away, with more than 130 drivers set to do battle in the second largest National Title in Australian Speedway history.
A daunting prospect for any competitor, but spare a thought for those competing in their first National Title, like Kayla Knox from Melbourne who will compete in a VZ Holden Commodore next weekend.
The twenty two year old is competing in her first season of Street Stock racing and loving every minute of it.
I have come from Sport Sedans with quick steer and race rubber, stepping up into Street Stocks was a challenge I was ready to face! I have not been going too bad at all considering, Knox said.
I was awarded best presented at my first ever MJS Series round, I was really happy with that, she added.
Despite it being her first National Title, she has raced at Mildura before. I competed their on the 1 December 2018, in a MJS Series Round, I absolutely love the track and facilities, Knox quipped.
Everyone in Street Stock is so friendly and are not afraid to chip in and helps each other out, she continued.
Until this year, Knox has only raced in one direction, so it was no surprise when she admitted to preferring to race in the traditional direction.
I am really looking forward to the experience! Experiencing your first national title after racing for 8 year is pretty exciting. I have not set myself very high expectations being my first title in Street Stocks but most of all I want to try my best and have fun, she added.

I would like to give a big shout out to my Dad who spend endless hours in the shed with me! Through all frustration we put each other through, we always manage to laugh at the end! There is no one else I would rather have by my side while I fulfill my dreams, Knox concluded.
The National Street Stock Title will be held on Saturday 9 March 2019 and Sunday 10 March 2019, with Speedway Sedans Australias award winning coverage Speedway Sedans Live, set to stream all of the action Live and Free across the course of the weekend.
