Dream Race For Besseling

Local star Chris Besseling (VS Holden Commodore) took full advantage of an upfront starting position in the field and took out The Dream Production Sedan main event at Castrol Edge Lismore Speedway Saturday night.

Bessling was a comfortable winner over Gympies Daniel Henshaw, while Adrian Stott was third.

The Dream brought together a strong entry list and the numbers were bolstered even further after several Queensland drivers made the late decision to race at Lismore when the Gympie Speedway was washed out.

But the man they all had to beat was Bessling who drove close to the perfect race.

Stott was the early leader in the main event, but after three laps Besseling raced to the front and was never headed from that point.
Steve Downes, who was one of the fancied runners, was sidelined after just one lap following a tangle with another car.

The battle was on in earnest for the minor placings as Henshaw ran in close formation with Stott.

Ricky Hazelgrove and Josh Arthur, Mark Quirk and Aaron Hall also diced hard for the minor placings as the race settled into a very competitive pattern.

At half distance Henshaw got the better of Stott and moved into second position, which he held to the finish.

It was also becoming a race of attrition as Hazelgrove pulled to the infield, while Ash and Jack Graham also failed to complete the distance.

Quirk advanced another position in the field after he passed Murray Wells as Josh Arthur was another late withdrawal in the closing laps.
Besseling always had the race under control and was a deserving winner in a top performance all night after he earlier recorded a heat victory.

Other heat winners in the Production Sedans were: Kayla Stokes, Arthur, Henshaw, Hall and Stott.
