The Coates Hire Bunbury Speedway in Western Australia, opened tonight with a huge field entered for the Paint Place Production Sedan Gold Cup, which was won by Rod Musarra.

Musarra who has won every major event for Production Sedans in Western Australia, apart from the State Title, where he has been the runner up on four occasions, was the dominant driver in the inaugural event, winning all three of his heats, and then the twenty five lap main event.

Only seven cars from the capacity field would finish on the lead lap.

In an exciting final Musarra and Nuno Mendes battled for the lead for the majority of the event, before Mendes would get a flat tyre in the concluding stages, and would ultimately finish in fourteenth place, as the last official finisher.

Graham Raffery and Kye Blight would also have a great race for position, but Musarra always appeared to have enough in reserve to win convincingly.
